The king of Perlis, or also known as Sultan of Perlis is called as, Duli Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku son of the late Al-Syed Putra Jamalullail, DK, SSPJ, DK(Terengganu), S.P.M.J, S.P.C.M, S.S.M.T. Raja Perlis was declared to be the seventh on 17th April 2000. DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin was been birthed on 12 Rejab 1362 corresponding 17th May 1943.
He began his early education at the Arau Malay School, now called as Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Budriah, and then he moved to Penang to continue their education up to the 1955 at Wellesley Primary School and Westland Primary School. Began his secondary education at Penang Free School and then continued his studies until the year 1963 in Wellingborough Public School, England.
On 30th October 1963, while still at school, he was appointed the Raja Muda of Perlis. After completing his secondary education in England, DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin proven leadership potential when selected courses at the Army Officer Cadet Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He trained up as Army officials would begin 7th January 1964 until 16th December 1965.
After completing his training at Sandhurst that he returned to Malaysia, he was commissioned as an officer in the Armed Forces with the rank of Lieutenant on 12nd December 1965 by joining the Royal Corps Reconnaissance is now known as the Royal Armor Corps. Exchange into the starting team in the Second Reconnaissance Regiment located at Camp Sungala, Port Dickson. He has served in Sabah in 1966 and in Sarawak in 1967. In December 1967 he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Pahang is the last country he served in the Armed Forces. He terminated the services of military on 31st December 1969 with the rank of Captain, to focus on his responsibilities as DYMM Raja Muda of Perlis, and learn the details of state government.
Before that, on 15th February 1967, DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin getting married to DYMM Tengku Fauziah binti Tengku Abdul Rashid, DK, SSPJ, and SPMP. With the marriage D.Y.M.M. Tengku Fauziah called Raja Puan Muda of Perlis.
In 1967 he was also appointed as the first Regent of Perlis, during His Majesty Tuanku Raja Perlis and His Highness the Raja Perempuan Perlis went to the United States and Europe. Perlis throne of his acting from 23rd June to 24th October1967.
Daring spirit and soul was with him very well lead to military service in his soul. Thus, starting November 1970 he joined the Local Defence Force, the Army Reserve who is now known as the Territorial Army Regiment. He was commissioned as an officer with the rank of Captain. Following the reorganization of the Army Reserve, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel and appointed as Commander of the 504th Regiment (Territorial Army), which ruled the team that covers the state of Kedah and Perlis. When the Regiment 513 was established in Singapore, 504 Regiment under his government is based in Camp Hill Keteri. Following his appointment as the King, he was appointed as President of the Corps, Colonel Royal Rangers on 19th September 1967.
In the field of sports and recreation, golf, tennis and football are sports that interest him. In May 1971 he was appointed President of the Putra Golf Club, a position he held until today. In addition, he also became Patron of the Association of Football Referees, Judges of Perlis in 1967. He also served as President of the Football Association for 18 years.
As a people-king, he liked having the personal characteristics of people-friendly and easy to get along. He believes education is the basis of the progress of the nation. Therefore, he consented to become chairman of the Yayasan Tuanku Syed Putra from 1986-2000. Through his foundation is to help the people of Perlis to study higher education institutions within and outside the country.
DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin is also very concerned in upholding the teachings of Islam, this can be done by him in position to lead the Islamic Council of Perlis. He has always maintained religious state is based on the understanding of the Sunnah Wal Jamaah. In a complete understanding of the Islamic da'wah, he often gets advice and opinions of the scholars state that is more familiar.
DYTM TUANKU SYED FAIZUDDIN PUTRA IBNI TUANKU SYED SIRAJUDDIN JAMALULLAIL
Raja Muda Perlis, is know as DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, was born on 30th December 1967. He was the eldest son and the only prince in the family, rather than the other two his siblings is a princess in the family.
DYTM Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail Faizuddin began studying at the National Primary Schools Putra, Kangar, from 1974 to 1979. From 1980 to 1982 he continue his studies at school Derma, Kangar. In 1983, following the step of his father, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and his grand late Majesty Tuanku Syed Putra, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin entering Penang Free School in Penang. In 1984 also, he went to Melbourne, Australia, to pursue the next grade five and grade six matriculation at Carey Grammar School. Subsequently, in 1986 he registered as students of the La Trobe University, Bundoora, Melbourne. In 1989 he was awarded a Bachelor of Economics (B.Ec.) by the university. His relationship with La Trobe University does not break away. He has become patron of La Trobe University Alumni Association of Malaysia (PALTUM). In 2002, the university has awarded him with the 'La Trobe Medal' which is the highest tribute. He is the recipient of two awards in the world after the President of Greece.
His career as an executive at the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) began in 1990 where he held positions of Management Trainee in the General Management. In 1992-1993, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin appointed as Executive Director of Marketing and Sales (international) market for Australia, Europe, Middle East and India. He then stated that the responsibility for markets in Asia and Africa from 1994-1995.
From 1995-1998 Faizuddin Tuanku Syed was appointed Area Manager for MAS countries Spain and Portugal and moved to Madrid. In 1998, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was once again changed as the Area Manager Switzerland, Austria and Central Europe and then moved to Zurich. He completed a 12-year career with Malaysia Airlines 31. January, 2002 and brought back a lot of experience outside the country for sows and share with the people and his beloved state of Perlis.
In 1976, DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin has won a football match at the National School Putra, Kangar.
In the sport he is big fan of football, whether as players, spectators and supporters. He is a great fan of English soccer Premier League, Manchester United, and was appointed as the Patron of the Football Supporters' Club of Malaysia. To this day he was playing with friends in the football team, FC Perlis Palace every afternoon when the chance and go see the dust bercemar every football match involving a team of Perlis Singa Utara. While attending school in Perlis, he also represented the state team to a championship football Schools Sports Council of Malaysia (MSSM) the age of 12 years in 1979. As a teenager, he also represented the school in hockey, sepak takraw, badminton and ping-pong.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin has been awarded with many awards greatness. In 1998, the official birthday celebration late Tuanku Syed Putra, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was awarded the Seri Paduka Mahkota honors Perlis (SPMP), which carries the title "Dato Seri." Next on 1 August 2000, he proclaimed title of "His Royal Highness Raja Muda of Perlis. However, due to his overseas duty, he only took the role of official functions as the regent after the official declaration ceremony was held on October 12, 2000.
On 12 December 2001, he was appointed Regent of Perlis for five years when his father, DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, was appointed as His Majesty the King Yang Ke 12. On that date he is also blessed with greatness star Perlis degree relatives (DK).
During the period of the Regency, he emphasized to be seen increase in the basic facilities to the people, the people and state revenue sources in addition to the image of the state of Perlis. He also strongly supported the government's activities as a campaign of 2003-2005 and the Visit Perlis Perlis Excellent program to the State Sports Gemilang by 2006.
He also lead the Army Regiment 504 (RAW) based in Camp Hill Keteri, Perlis, as the rank of Colonel Commandant takes over from his father when he became first regent. In April 2004, he was promoted to Brigadier General. In the same month he received the honorary status of "Maroon beret 'and the wing falls 10 Brigade of the Malaysian Army. He also received the wings falls from the Royal Malaysia Police and the 'beret FOR' from the police.
DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also took over the position held by his father since many decades as President of the Council of Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Perlis (MAIPs) and President of Perlis Putra Golf Club in Sungei Batu Pahat as well as leading the Tuanku Syed Putra Foundation Chairman.
He was also appointed by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong as the first Chancellor of the Northern Malaysia University College of Engineering (KUKUM), which later changed its name to Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Coppermine).
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also a patron of several organizations. Among them are the Malaysian Chefs Association, the International Football Projects Ken Barnes Soccer Skills Se-Malaysia, Perlis Lawn Bowls Association, and the Red Crescent Society branch Perlis.
Sharing life of DYTM Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra and DYTM Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah starting on May 9, 1994. Currently, the Royal couple were blessed with two happy daughters. Eldest daughter, Yang Amat Mulia Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah was born on 10th February 1995 at the Coast Hospital Kuala Lumpur. While Yang Amat Mulia Sharifah Farah Adriana was born on 4th March 2001 at Zollikerberg Hospital, Switzerland.
Their Majesties also perform the fifth pillar of Islam, such as the pilgrimage in 2004 and 2006 years ago.
